Run/Walk Among Top 5 Flint-Area Race Stories In Inaugural Year

When the Tuuri Road Race was discounted by the Hurley Foundation after 31 years, some concerned members of the Flint-area running community decided to step forward and continue the tradition, with some new twists.

The Atwood Stadium race, which was run on about four miles of the old Tuuri course, was a rousing success.

The Atwood race had 992 finishers in the 10K and 5K races. The total reached 1,132 with the children’s race. It was the largest total for a first-time Flint-area road race since the Shillelagh four-miler had 1,496 in 1990.
